My Trip to Baltimore and Philadelpia

By: Alana

Baltimore and Philadelphia are amazing cities. If you travel there in the fall you can see beautiful fall leaves. One of the first things you will see in Baltimore is Oriole Park. It’s a big ballpark. Just inside the park is the Statue Plaza with six statues of famous players that were on the Orioles. The field is really big compared to Wrigley Field’s. Baltimore is full of bright lights that contrast against the pale buildings. Not all of the buildings are dull. The hospital has bright multi-colored windows and the Ripley's Believe it or Not is unique. Baltimore has the best seafood anywhere. I had the best salmon ever from a P. F. Chang's by the water. The sunrise in Baltimore was beautiful. It was full of oranges and pinks that made the buildings glow.

The two hours that it takes to get to Philadelphia only seems like thirty minutes. If you take the back roads to avoid the 6 dollar toll you get to go over a hydro-electric powered dam. To get into Philadelphia, you have to cross a blue layered bridge. Entering the city you go on the bottom of the about twenty story bridge. Exiting the city you go across the top. If you park in an underground parking garage, make sure you know where the exits are before you go to leave. If not you'll end up driving around the first level for about twenty minutes like my mom did. The bus routes are really confusing. All of the buildings from the 1700's are surrounded by these huge skyscrapers. After seeing all of the things from the 1700's we went to the Eastern State Penitentiary. It is a giant prison surrounded by a fifteen foot wall. Al Capone was there for a while. It was cool. There was an audio tour to listen to while you take your self-guided walking tour. Afterwards we went to a cheesesteak place called Campo's. I had the BBQ Cheesesteak. It had steak, bacon, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce. It was the best cheesesteak ever. After that we left to go home.
